Our Mission

Our Commitments

Plain and simple we serve south London Thai food with a menu featuring southern Thailands delectable soul food, we aim on serving food that doesn't break the bank, cut on quality, skimp on taste and has a focus on sustainability.

We will never buy in pre-made sauces and never use a central kitchen, unlike most larger brands. What you're served is 100% freshly prepped and put together from scratch in our site kitchens by skilled chefs who have decades of experience cooking Thai food - this not only complements the freshness and quality of what you're served but cuts down on the transportation costs and adds to the shelf life of all our dishes cutting down on unnecessary waste that our industry has alot of.

If we haven't lived up to our mission please drop us an e-mail and we hope to make it up to you.

Our Sustainability

It's no surprise that restaurants generate a-lot of waste. At Tai, we try and keep this to an absolute minimum to make sure we can have positive impact on our carbon footprint and in general try and see if we can come up with innovative ways to revolutionise our business model to further the sustainability cause.

Our boxes, for instance, are fully recyclable and none of our plastic packaging is single-use. We also recycle all our glass, plastic & food waste using First Mile, who are committed to climate action. On the menu side, our eggs are all free-range and we use 100% sunflower oil in all our cooking.

We’ve also tried to create a very vegetable-heavy menu to cater to a flexitarian, vegan or vegetarian diet in a way that doesn't skimp on taste or quality, for instance all our curry pastes are totally vegan.

What we’re especially proud of is our support of Ecologi and their mission to help small businesses like ourselves offset as much CO2 output as possible, you can find out more about our forest and our project we support through them here.

We are always open to more ideas to make our business more climate change friendly. If you have anything that you think could help, please drop us an e-mail.

Friends of Thai

Since our founding we believe we should give back, whether that is to the local community (which we are still working on) or to the heritage that we are making money off, the latter is important to us as it allows us, in a way to say thank you.

Our chosen partner charity is For Life Thailand, for each Pad Thai or Somjits Chilli Oil jar we sell we donate 50p or 25p respectively. The wonderful work these guys do is very close to Tai Kitchens heart. ForLife's mission is to help disadvantage & disabled children throughout Thailand by setting up local projects, providing care and making sure there is funding in order to help with the challenges children in Thailand with disabilities face.
